Interested in hearing about any recently experiences with Rep Software packages for sales/commission tracking and those that offer contact management or CRM features. Considering both server based and web based systems. We represent custom component manufacturers and sell to OEMs or distributors so we don't require features for selling to retailers.

Hi. I developed a software web-based for reps. It's available at www.yoursales.com.br. It's in Portuguese yet, but I looking for a partner to help us to translate it.
Best regards Vitor |

Hello Dave,
Sorry for the late reply, as I only recently discovered this forum. We can connect you with reps in your region or industry that use our products. We have many custom component manufacturers reps, especially in the electronics industry, but other industries as well. Our telephone number is 800 776 7435, then press 301 for sales. Regards, Jim Adam |

I would be interested in learning if you ever found a software product that worked for you either web based or not. Thank you.

EnterpriseWizard can keep track of sales/commissions and has very strong CRM functionality. It ws primarily developed for B2B businesses and is currently available in English, French, Chinese, Russian and Portugese. There are a number of customer case studies at our web site.

We are stock manufacturer reps and are interested in a software package that primarily tracks inventory and generates shipping documents for various factories. We do no billing. We are using customer written software at present but would like to upgrade our hardware and install a new program. Does anyone have a program that they are happy with.

I currently use QuickBooks for my Engineering and Consulting service, the request of me to do Mfg. Rep work is increasing(this is a new area for me) and I want a software that manages varios customer accounts. Im interested to see what the comparison is between other software systems and QuickBooks are in a "Cloud Computing" environment

One difference between QuickBooks and rep-specific software is that QuickBooks looks at dollars as though you are the company that bills the customer. For manufacturers reps, this is not usually the case.
Manufacturers Reps like to see the dollar volumes that their customers have paid to the principals they represent, as well as the commissions that they have been paid by the manufacturer. QuickBooks is general accounting software. They do have an on-line version that I suppose could be in a cloud computing environment. Some rep software systems are PC or LAN based. Others are hosted on web servers on the Internet. I can't say whether or not any of the hosted solutions are hosted on a cloud. But I'm not certain that is important anyway - Whether the solution is in the Amazon cloud, or hosted on a web server, or installed in your desktop, probably won't matter nearly as much as whether the solution works.
